Role and profile
Dr Campbell is a Public Health Research Fellow in the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN) within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. She holds a 5-year Victorian Health Promotion Foundation Public Health Research Fellowship (to finish April 2012). She is an active researcher with her work focusing on understanding and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviours in young children, with a view to promoting health generally and reducing the risks of overweight and other chronic lifestyle disease.

Research Interests
Dr Campbell’s research focuses on the behavioural, social and environmental influences on eating, sedentary behaviours and physical activity in infants and children, with particular emphasis on the home environment as a determinant of these behaviours. She leads an NHMRC funded obesity prevention intervention known as the Infant Feeding, Activity and Nutrition Trial (InFANT), which concludes in December 2010. This large cluster randomised controlled trial involves 560 first-time parents and their 3 to 18 month old infants.
