Role and profile
Dr Sarah McNaughton is a senior research fellow in the area of nutritional epidemiology in the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN) within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Registered Public Health Nutritionist. She is supported by a National Heart Foundation of Australia Research Fellowship. From July 1 2011, she will take up an Australia Research Council Future Fellowship.

Research Interests
Dr McNaughton’s current research interests include the assessment of dietary behaviours, diet quality and dietary patterns across the life course, their determinants and the implication for the prevention of obesity and cardio-metabolic disease. She is collaborating on the Childhood Determinants of Adult Health Study, the AusDiab study and the Women’s Health Australia study. She is also conducting research on the influences on dietary patterns among older adults and is leading an Australian Research Council funded study in this area known as the Wellbeing, Eating and Exercise for a Long Life (WELL) study.
