Role and profile
Dr Susan Torres is a lecturer in Nutrition at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Dr Torres is a member of the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN) and her research assesses the relationship between indicators of mental health and dietary intake.

Dr Torres’ research assesses the relationship between indicators of mental health and dietary intake. She has conducted intervention studies assessing the impact of dietary modifications and weight loss on mood, anxiety and blood pressure responses to stress. Recently, Dr Torres has been investigating the relationship between anxiety and fat taste, and how stress response differs in lean versus obese individuals.
