Helen Larkin is a lecturer in Occupational Therapy and a School Teaching and Learning Coordinator. Helen's teaching includes a focus on inclusive design of built environments and their role in promoting communities that are welcoming and inclusive of people with diverse abilities. In 2010 Helen was awarded Deakin Vice Chancellor's Awards for Teaching Excellence and for Distinguished Teaching, and in 2011 she won a national Australian Learning and Teaching Council citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
Sophie Goldingay is a senior lecturer in Social Work and a Teaching and Learning Coordinator. Her research includes work with institutionalised populations such as prisoners, people with psychiatric disabilities, and people with learning disabilities. She led a team winning the Vice Chancellor's award for Excellent Contributions to Equity and Access in Higher Education in 2012. The project has led to significant developments across the Health Faculty, including a Pathways project with the local TAFE in Geelong. Sophie also was awarded a Commendation for Excellence in Teaching in 2013.
Patricia Ritchie graduated from the School with a Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion. During her studies she partnered with Eastern Metropolitan Local Governments to understand the evaluation process for their Municipal Public Health & wellbeing Plans. She is currently employed in the School as an Academic Administrator and as Manager of Deakin Smoke-Free, a project developing a smoke-free environment for Deakin University as well as partnering across the State to encourage all Victorian Universities to implement smoke-free environments.
