Role and profile
Jan is a Lecturer in the area of Health Promotion in the School of Health and Social Development. She teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Jan is an active researcher in public health with a strong focus on family social health and wellbeing.

Jan’s research is primarily concerned with the welfare of professional jockeys and their support networks. Jan’s research is centred on the racing industry and has included investigation of weight management strategies of the professional jockey, the welfare of retired jockeys and the social health and wellbeing of jockeys and jockey families.
