Evelyne de Leeuw is globally renown for her research in the area of the WHO Healthy Cities Programme and continues to be senior evaluation advisor to the WHO European Region in this area. Currently she is developing further relations with Australian and Korean Healthy Cities networks.
Her publications span two decades of urban health development.
Current research interests, working in teams with PhD students, include
- Health equity and greenfield urban development
- Organisational dimensions of the international Health Promoting Schools network
- The nexus between research, policy and practice
- Health diplomacy issues in relation to the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control
- Network analysis of complex urban/local health policy development programmes
- Community and consumer engagement in public health policy formulation
- Healthy City and Community development in Islamic nations
