Role and profile
Dr Lana Williams is a psychology graduate with significant experience in psychiatric epidemiology and a special interest in physical co-morbidities of the common mental disorders. She is currently working as a Research Fellow on collaborative projects between the Barwon Psychiatric Research Unit and the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit within the School of Medicine, Deakin University, and also holds an honorary appointment at The University of Melbourne.

Research Interests
Over the past few years, Dr Williams has developed an innovative program of research examining medical and lifestyle correlates of mood and anxiety disorders within an epidemiological context. Cornerstone to this program is her work linking mental disorders and the agents used in the treatment of these disorders to endocrinology endpoints, such as bone density, fracture and body composition.

Dr Williams is an active member of a number of professional organisations, including the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia, the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Australasian Society for Psychiatric Research (ASPR), International Federation of Psychiatric Epidemiology (IFPE), International Society for Affective Disorders (ISAD), International Society for Bipolar Disorder (ISBD) and the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS).
