Bridie specialised in adult critical care nursing in the UK and gained a PhD in Nursing in 1998. She is the inaugural Chair of Nursing Eastern Health; a joint appointment with Deakin University and Eastern Health, which is one of Melbourne's largest metropolitan public health services. She has held clinical and academic appointments that provided her with opportunities to link research, education and practice in three different healthcare settings; UK, New Zealand and Australia. With over 15 years experience in the field of critical care, she also has extensive experience in quality improvement, practice change, health services education and research in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. She has played a leading role in evidence-based practice (EBP) uptake and implementation.

Nikki coordinates our programme of systematic review training and activities to support our systematic review network. Nikki is the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Course Co-ordinator for the Bachelor of Nursing suite of courses. Nikki has over 15 years experience in facilitating the learning of both undergraduate and post-graduate nursing students in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bhutan. Nikki is committed to quality nursing courses that incorporate evidence-based practice, address person-centred care, quality and risk management and improving patient outcomes. Nikki's research is focused on evidence-based practice and knowledge translation, which builds on her PhD studies; completed in 2008.
