Julie is a Professor of Nursing at Deakin University and Chair in Nursing at Eastern Health where she leads the Eastern Health - Deakin University Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre. Julie's clinical background is in emergency nursing and she has held clinical, education, and research roles in emergency nursing over the last two decades. Julie was awarded her PhD in 2006 and is an internationally respected clinician, educator and researcher whose expertise spans both industry and academic sectors. She has led a number of evidence-based practice initiatives including emergency care of patients with hip fractures, stroke, COPD and care of children with febrile illness.

Nikki coordinates our programme of systematic review training and activities to support our systematic review network. Nikki is the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Course Co-ordinator for the Bachelor of Nursing suite of courses. Nikki has over 15 years experience in facilitating the learning of both undergraduate and post-graduate nursing students in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bhutan. Nikki is committed to quality nursing courses that incorporate evidence-based practice, address person-centred care, quality and risk management and improving patient outcomes. Nikki's research is focused on evidence-based practice and knowledge translation, which builds on her PhD studies; completed in 2008.
