Role and profile
Lauren McTier is a lecturer in undergraduate studies for the Bachelor of Nursing courses in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University. Lauren re-joined the School of Nursing and Midwifery in 2011 following study leave for her Doctoral studies. Lauren has over 12 years experience in critical care nursing and 8 years experience in facilitating the learning of both undergraduate and post-graduate nursing students.


Teaching responsibilities
Lauren teaches in the undergraduate nursing courses mainly in the areas of quality and safety in healthcare and acute care nursing practices. Lauren has also supervised Honours degree students.

Research interests
Lauren’s research program is within the area of quality and safety of healthcare. Her research focuses on the role patients may play in improving the quality and safety of healthcare.
