The WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention was established in 2003 and aims to:
- undertake research and build research capacity in all aspects of obesity prevention
- train and educate professionals and academics in the science and art of obesity prevention.
The Faculty has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Public Health Foundation of India to build India’s capacity in public health promotion. This collaboration aims to set up a network of public health schools which will deliver training beyond the field of medical education.
