- About Deakin
Collaborative research projects aim to address an issue of significance to both partners. Often a research project is developed by a team which seeks funding from a research agency or government body to underpin the activity. The aim is for the research outcomes to impact positively on the partner’s operations, and at the same time contribute to the University’s research reputation through publications.
Research projects focusing on small local issues over time often evolve into major research collaborations to address major national or international issues.
Consultancy projects often arise from our partnerships, though they may also be in response to public tenders. Consultancy projects are commercial fee for service based transactions where the University staff expertise is contracted out to the other party. The projects may involve training programs, development of materials, data collection and analysis, evaluations, and advice. The Intellectual Property developed belongs to the other party.
