Role and profile
Dr Alexa Kambouropoulos is a Lecturer in Psychology and Coordinator of the Doctor of Psychology Clinical Placement program. Alexa has extensive clinical and teaching experience in Counselling Psychology which has enabled her to set up and deliver counselling programs to provisional psychologists and educators both locally and overseas (Singapore & Hong Kong).Teaching responsibilities
Alexa teaches in several units such as Health Behaviour and Counselling & Interpersonal Skills at 4th year and previously in Coaching Individuals for Behaviour Change. Alexa is a qualitative researcher whose research interests include youth health and well-being and counselling across cultures mainly with migrant groups and international students.Awards and prizes
2007-2009: Nominated for Australian of the Year Award 2006: A recipient of research grant by City of Boroondara into youth at ‘risk’ 2001: Founded the Youth Community Organisation - Skillz Inc Contributed to the Australian Psychological Society Position Paper on the state and quality of childcare in Australia to Federal Government.
