Through extensive national consultation and partnership with the Commonwealth Government and thirteen leading Australian businesses, we developed the Australian WorkHealth Program—Arthritis. This has informed several initiatives including new programs developed by the Victorian Government. Professor Osborne is a member of the Victorian Premier’s Preventative Health Roundtable, which has primary oversight of workplace to community interventions across Victoria. We also undertook the 2009 Australian Workplace Health Initiatives: A focus on diabetes prevention survey for the National Reform Agenda and COAG. In collaboration with colleagues from the USA Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, we are researching key national longitudinal datasets to uncover determinants of decline in work and social participation in people with arthritis.
