Role and profile
Professor Don Jefferys is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Psychology and works privately at The Melbourne Clinic where he brings an eclectic approach to treatment utilizing his background in Neuroscience. Within the department, he has been involved in the supervision of graduate students in their research projects using his experience as a clinician and researcher. His clinical focus is a spectrum of psychiatric and non-psychiatric disorders – their diagnosis, treatment and managing the impact they have on quality of life.


Teaching Responsibilities
Participation in the supervision of 4th Year Graduate Diploma of Psychology Course.

Lecturing on Anxiety Disorders, Mood and Spectrum Disorders.



Research Interests
The Anxiety Disorders across the life span, specifically their neurobiology, treatment and long-term outcome.

The Mood Disorders with emphasis upon their neurobiology, treatment and long-term outcome.

The Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders – Trichotillomania, Body Dysmorphic Disorder - their neurobiology and treatment.

Memory and its neurobiology

The hormonal regulation of the stress responses and its contribution to psychiatric diagnoses
