CHERS (Centre for Higher Education Research and Scholarship) is a sub-group of the Higher Education Research Group established by Professor Marcia Devlin with the support of both the DVC (Research) and the DVC(Academic) who acknowledged CHERS as developing a research strength at Deakin University. It currently comprises a group of researchers active in the field of higher education research investigating, publishing and supervising postgraduate research in a range of aspects that include the scholarship of teaching and learning, student engagement, student equity, leadership management, doctoral studies and flexible and blended learning and teaching.
In 2010 and 2011 CHERS members have planned and met strategic key performance indicators in research performance with a growing number of funded research projects, refereed publications and higher degree by research student completions.
