Welcome to Deakin University's Higher Education Research Group - HERG

I am delighted to welcome you to the HERG website - the online home of the Higher Education Research Group (HERG).

Our purpose is to provide a mechanism for you to participate and collaborate in research, scholarship and consultancy in the field of higher education, including university teaching and learning.

Our members are higher education researchers and scholars with varying levels of expertise in:

• winning competitive and other grants
• undertaking higher education research
• undertaking scholarship in teaching and learning, and
• publishing in a range of publications including international peer-reviewed journals.

The HERG activities will provide support and development opportunities for Deakin staff at all stages of their research career, including:

• seminars
• mentoring
• information sharing
• collaborative projects
• grant writing

and much more.

We are committed to contributing actively to Deakin's strategic goal of becoming a national leader in teaching and learning.

Membership of the HERG is free and open to any academic or general staff member interested in research in the field of higher education.
