Services and Support

What services are available and how can you contact us?
The Deakin University HIA Unit is happy to provide consultancy and research support and services. We offer the following range of services and support:

Independent reviewing
Peer reviewing of completed HIA projects is a standard practice within impact assessment methodologies. We are happy to be named as reviewers and offer a reviewing service either formally or informally.

Impact assessment advice
If you are planning to undertake an HIA of a policy project or program, we are happy to discuss your plans and offer advice and guidance on evidence, methods and factors to be taken into account.

Information services and resources
The Deakin team have been collecting a library of materials linked to HIA and policy for many years including reports of case studies and unpublished papers. A bibliography of materials is being developed and will be posted on this site as soon as possible. If you are undertaking research you may wish to visit the unit and examine these resources. Copies can be supplied for a small fee. Please contact us directly to gain advice.

Training
Training and capacity building is essential to the successful application of HIA. We can offer training at a range of levels. Please refer to the training information page.

Networking and collaboration
As HIA is a multidisciplinary activity, collaborating and networking are essential. We see our role as contributing to the development and refinement of, and debate, about efficacy and utility of HIA approaches and are keen to act as a conduit for best practice in Australia and New Zealand. If you would like to use this website to profile your organisation's work, particularly your experience of practical applications of HIA, please contact us.
