Applications

All applicants must submit an application through the Graduate Medical Admissions Centre website.

Selection into the Deakin Medical course is based on undergraduate academic record (weighted grade point average, GPA), GAMSAT score and interview performance.  There will be a weighting for:

  • Rural / regional residency.  Applicants who have lived or studied for 3 years or more in a region classified as RRMA 2-7 under the Rural, Remote and Metropolitan Areas classification (RRMA)( 4% for RRMA 3-7 residency, 2% for RRMA 2 residency).
  • Prior learning (bio-medical and/or health science major - 2%)
  • Prior clinical experience of at least 12 months or more in a registered health discipline (2%).

Applicants who wish to apply for weighting must also complete a Supplementary Application Form.(pdf 55Kb)
