Staff Partnership Program

The Staff Partnership Program (SPP) aims to recognise, develop and support the contribution that Deakin University's academic leaders make to University and community life. Embedding development, communication and consultation as a two-way process across the University over an initial three year period, the SPP seeks to facilitate collegial interaction and engagement in University life; nurture common values and mutual respect amongst our many academic leaders; and improve the environment in which our academic leaders operate.

Heads of Schools

The Heads of Schools stream creates a leading and learning community of practice for all Heads of Schools. Heads may participate in University-wide cohort gatherings, facilitated discussion, peer consultancy and  School based consultancies.

The Heads of School cohort and the Vice-Chancellor meet up to three times per year as part of this Program stream. Additional orientation or transition support may be accessed by recently appointed Heads of Schools and Heads of Schools whose term is drawing to a close.

In 2011 School Based Consultancy Support linked to staff survey outcomes will be a significant aspect of the Staff Partnership Program. Under this model, Heads of School, Academic Culture and Leadership Consultants and HRD Business Service Partners work together with School Executive Teams throughout the calendar year.

School Based Consultancies are collaboratively designed and aim to support and implement improvements in teaching and learning or research and promote an engaged and rewarding School Culture for staff. Consultancies are also designed to support the ongoing development of Associate Heads, Discipline Leaders, Course Leaders and Cluster Leaders.
