Approval of new (or revised) standards
Process overview
Below is the process followed to obtain approval for proposed ICT standards. Scheduled revision of approved standards will also follow this process.
- Draft ICT standards are to be submitted to the ICT Standards Group for review and approval
as described in the submission section of this website.
- The ICT Standards Group meets quarterly to review proposed standard, and determine the status:
APPROVED: Standard is approved unconditionally. Proceed to step 3.
CONDITIONAL: Standard is approved with conditions. Conditions associated with approval are provided to the author to revise
the standard and return to the Chair of the ICT Standards Group. Revised standards will then be
updated to "APPROVED" status. Proceed to step 3.
REJECTED: Standard is rejected. Reasoning and suggestions for modification are documented and provided to the author. Return
to step 1.
- APPROVED standards are forwarded to the Enterprise Architecture Working Party* for final endorsement.
* By default, standards are presented to the EA Working Party for endorsement. Authors may nominate an alternative University working party to
provide final endorsement of a specific standard if preferred.
