An Application Lifecycle Report is produced annually to provide a high-level snapshot of the key enterprise-level applications in use throughout Deakin University. It aims to provide recommendations on the future use of these applications.
It is compiled from a number of sources, including:
The report provides business and technical ratings of each application. These ratings, combined with an understanding of the greater context in which the application resides, allow the Architecture and Planning Unit in DeS to produce a recommendation for the ongoing maintenance, monitoring, enhancement or potential replacement of the application.
This report informs the ICT Strategic Asset Management planning process, and assists in ascertaining ongoing application requirements and potential future funding requirements.
