Community engagement
Across our four campuses Deakin engages with our local communities in diverse ways. We engage through our teaching and corporate education programs, research and intern partnerships with local and national organisations, international programs and our sponsorship activities.
Campus communities: Burwood
Community consultation connects Deakin with local government, business, industry and schools. We have cultural exchanges with the cities of Greater Dandenong and Whitehorse.
Campus communities: Geelong
In the regional city where Deakin University began we continue our tradition of strong collaborations and partnerships with local government and business to help Geelong grow and prosper.
Campus communities: Warrnambool
In Warrnambool we foster connections with our local dairy industry, participate in cross-sector groups looking at sustainability and innovation as well as strategic regional development.
DeakinWeek - a community event
DeakinWeek is designed to inform, inspire and engage industry, government, community, research, staff and students and it celebrates our partnerships and accomplishments.
Using Deakin's facilities
Many Deakin facilities are open to the public, including cafes and restaurants, sporting facilities, libraries, lecture halls and meeting rooms and residential conference venues.
