Deakin celebrates Harmony Day in Whitehorse
Deakin newsBox Hill Community Gardens was transformed by ‘Global Fiesta’ on Sunday 20 March 2016 – in celebration of national Harmony Day.
The annual Whitehorse Global Fiesta, sponsored by Deakin, attracted over 5000 visitors throughout the day, to the community-led, family friendly event celebrating our multicultural communities.
The event featured an outdoor concert, food and community information stalls and free activities – and this year’s special guest and star attraction, Hello Kitty!
Local performers, clubs and groups kept the stage buzzing and the air filled with excitement throughout the day with multicultural and traditional dance, music and activity.
Global Fiesta is part of the Whitehorse Festival Season of which Deakin is a proud sponsor – celebrating multiculturalism, diversity, and promoting cultural understanding and respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
