MultiMail is an electronic mail (email) program that includes word prediction and gives you a range of interface and user options. MultiMail should improve email communication opportunities for Internet users with a disability. MultiMail was originally designed for Windows 3.x/95 so that consumers with older computer equipment could use this free product. A 32- bit version for Windows 95/98/2000 has now been implemented.
MultiMail is a sister product to the MultiWeb Internet Browser. MultiWeb also has many accessibility features. It enables computer users to access the Internet with an interface of their choice. If you have used MultiWeb, you will be familiar with some of MultiMail's accessibility features.
MultiMail was developed by the Equity Access Research and Development Group at Deakin University. Funding for the project was provided through a grant from the Commonwealth Department of Communication, Information Technology and the Arts' (DCITA) AccessAbility Program. MultiMail is freely available for distribution but cannot be sold for profit.
Thanks to an additional grant from DCITA, a training package was developed and trialed throughout several Australian states in 2000 and 2001.
