Pathways

If you don't quite meet the entry requirements for Deakin, it doesn't mean you have to miss out. We have many different pathways – both on campus and off campus – that you can take to get into your course of choice.

On-campus pathways

Deakin College and the Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI) are located on campus, and both have centres in Melbourne and Geelong.

If you choose to study at DUELI or Deakin College, you'll have access to all our on-campus facilities and services before you start your degree.

Deakin University English Language Institute

Studying at Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI) will give you the English language skills you need to start your university degree. If you meet the academic requirements for your course, but not the English language requirements, then you’re automatically eligible for placement at DUELI.

Technical and further education (TAFE) pathways

TAFE institutions

Studying at a TAFE institution can also provide a pathway into Deakin.

Getting a Certificate IV, diploma, advanced or associate degree may give you the academic results or credit you need to get into the Deakin University course that you're interested in.

There are many TAFE institutes across Australia, but the ones closest to Deakin's campuses are:

How TAFE courses can lead to Deakin courses
