Beach welcome

We’d like to welcome you to Australia – with a free trip to the beach! During the trip you’ll get to go surfing, hiking, swimming and mountain-bike riding with fellow Deakin students, all while learning about living and studying in Australia.

Make new friends from all around the world

You’ll have the chance to meet other study abroad and exchange students on your beach welcome trip, as well as Australian students who have studied abroad themselves.

Beach welcome activities

There are so many ways to experience Australia’s natural beauty, and on our beach welcome trip in the beautiful coastal town of Lorne, you can do them all.

We offer surfing lessons, hiking through the temperate rainforest, yoga and beach games. You’ll also be able to rub shoulders with the locals at the local pub, or simply relax on the beach and hang out with your new friends.

Beach Welcome 2016

Deakin's Study Abroad team hosts two beach welcome trips every year for their international students. Watch to see how it went in 2016!

Get ready for Deakin

The trip will also feature useful sessions on making the most of your stay in Australia, including sessions on how to ensure your enrolment is complete, how best to meet Aussies and settle into university life and tips on travelling in Australia.

We’ve got you covered
