Insider's guide to getting published

Free workshop providing tips and ideas for getting published in a highly competitive research and publishing environment.

Deakin University Library, in collaboration with Emerald Group Publishing Limited, invites academic staff and research students to a free workshop.

The Insider’s guide to getting published features keynote speaker Associate Professor Jeffrey Faux from Victoria University, who will provide tips and techniques about getting published in journals – specifically, those of leading independent publisher Emerald.

A panel of experts from Deakin University will give further insight into how to get published in a competitive research environment:

  • Associate Professor Steve Dellaportas will address What editors look for in a paper before it is submitted to the review process
  • Dr Melissa Parris will speak on How to respond to revisions
  • Professor Ruth Rentschler will focus on How to co-author with academic colleagues
