The Internationalisation workshop within the Fundamentals of teaching and learning program examines the demographics and diversity of the student population at Deakin University and suggests means of teaching effectively with diverse learners.

4. Assessing international students
5. Intercultural communication competencies

At the completion of this session participants should be able to:

• reflect on the diversity of students at Deakin
• explain techniques for teaching more effectively to diverse groups of learners
• evaluate means of assessing learning amongst diverse groups of learners
• explain ways of getting feedback from international (and local) students.

Format: face-to-face
Target audience: 'New to Deakin', inexperienced academics and sessional teachers
