Teaching large classes

The Teaching large classes workshop within the Fundamentals of teaching and learning program is designed for all academic staff who are new to teaching or who just want to share ideas about teaching in large classes. This is an opportunity to discuss strategies which have worked well in your teaching as well as to consider a range of ideas such as:

• planning for class
• structuring lectures
• strategies for motivating students
• designing effective visual aids
• getting feedback from students.

Format: face-to-face
Target audience: 'New to Deakin', inexperienced academics and sessional teachers
When: February, July and November
How long: 2 hour session
