Introduction to teaching and learning online

The Introduction to teaching and learning online workshop within the Fundamentals of teaching and learning program is designed for all academic staff that are unfamiliar with Deakin’s online teaching and learning system Deakin Studies Online (DSO). Both lecturers and sessional teachers are welcome to attend. Sessional teachers/casual academics will gain credit towards the PDCAS program facilitated by the Institute if they attend.

The session covers the following:

• introduction to teaching with DSO
• navigating the DSO environment
• performing basic online teaching activities
• examples of good practice in online teaching at Deakin University.

Format: face-to-face and hands-on
Target audience: 'New to Deakin', inexperienced academics and sessional teachers
When: February, July and November
How long: 2 hour session
Requirements: nil
