Professional development
The Institute is involved in a range of activities supporting the development of teaching staff in the university:
- Development of staff members' capacities to use a variety of Deakin Studies Online (DSO) technologies cost-effectively for educational purposes through the running of face-to-face workshops, Forums and User Groups, and the provision of online support and training materials
- The coordination of the Professional Development Program for Sessional Staff (PDSS)
- Contributions to the Graduate Certificate of Higher Education with the Faculty of Education
- Provision of online Teaching and Learning Modules on key aspects of teaching quality
- Advice on the interpretation of Student Evaluation of Teaching and Unit (SETU) and Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) data, and support on appropriate actions to enhance the quality of teaching and learning
- Coordination of teaching and learning seminars, and Annual Teaching and Learning Conference.
