Summary

Keep thinking about and acting on:

  1. University policy and procedures relating to internationalising the curriculum and attributes of excellent teaching in your own discipline or field
  2. Your own faculties' commitments in teaching, learning and cultural diversity
  3. All aspects of your units (subject matter, learning materials, assessment, delivery in the classroom and online, evaluation)
  4. Those things that can be readily changed in your teaching like day-to-day interactions in face-to-face and online settings
  5. The benefits to be had in capitalising on the different cultural backgrounds and settings of your students in enriching all students' understandings of subject knowledge and professional practices
  6. A personal checklist of your own views and practices relating to 1-5

Most importantly, appreciate that teaching effectively for cultural diversity is as much about developing a certain open, informed mindset (or view of the world) as it is about perfecting strategies and techniques.
