Research and evaluation

The Institute undertakes selective institutional research and evaluation in areas related to teaching, learning and technology. The evaluation of the implementation of Deakin Studies Online (DSO) has been a key focus along with research related to STALGS project and wholly online unit developments. Institute staff can help with:

• Developing evaluation approaches to University supported e-learning technologies
• Advising on the preparation of research plans and ethics applications for STALGS projects
• Supporting the development of ethics applications relating to STALGS projects
• Identifying opportunities for major research on key areas of teaching and learning development within the University
• Advising on appropriate academic publication outlets for completed research and evaluation projects.

The Institute also undertakes ongoing quality assurance of its academic professional development and training offerings. The Institute also works closely with Quality Learning Research Priority Area (QLRPA) overseen by the Faculty of Education.
