The Institute of Teaching and Learning run a series of hands-on workshop programs and sessions covering different aspects of teaching online that will assist you in your teaching practice.
The Professional Development for Casual Academic Staff (PDCAS) program offers useful information and strategies aimed at stimulating ideas that will enhance your teaching. The program is intended to be completed in the first semester of employment as a casual academic. The program is coordinated by Terry Timberlake at the Institute of Teaching and Learning.

The Deakin Studies Online (DSO) workshops are a series of two-hour, hands-on workshops covering different aspects of the DSO environment. These sessions provide an opportunity for staff to practise using specific tools and components and to explore strategies for using them in your teaching practice.
The Teaching and Learning Online Professional Development (TLOPD) program consists of modules you can complete online, at your own pace. The modules use realistic scenarios within Blackboard and guide you through the steps for each task as you go.
