Dr Lu Sun | Dr Sun won the Smart Technology Award at the 2008 Researcher of the Year Awards for her work in Optimising the UV Protection of Textiles with Nano Zinc Oxide. Her research will lead to an improved understanding of the basic interactions between nano particles, colour and fibre. Lu Sun's project has been funded by the Australian Research Council and Micronisers P/L, under the supervision of Dr John Rippon, Dr Peter Cookson and Professor Xungai Wang. |

PhD candidate Minoo Naebe | - awarded a Young Nanotechnology Ambassador Award 2008. This award aims at promoting science and science education in schools by selected postgraduate student/ early career researchers. Minoo was also selected to attend the Asia Nanotech Camp, held in Feb this year in Japan. She was one of the only 3 PhD students throughout Australia selected to attend this event. |
