Mid last year Deakin University upgraded to the latest version of the Microsoft Office suite of applications- MS Office Suite 2007 for PC users, and Office 2008 for Mac users. As with all deployments of new applications, you will notice some differences when using your workstation. But don’t worry, there are lots of training and support resources available to help you transition to using these new versions. This website can help you to find them.

In mid-January ITSD will announce a new deal which will allow staff to install Microsoft Office 2007 on their home computers, for a fraction of retail price. Keep checking the software website for updates.

MS Office Upgrade News
To allow you to get familiar with the new version, we have continued to provide you with Office XP for PC, and 2004 for Mac, however it is envisaged that these will be removed by mid-February 2009. Please use the resources on this page to help you through this transition.
If you are using a Deakin Phoenix machine you will have Microsoft Access 2002 and Microsoft Access 2007 installed on your machine. In mid-February Microsoft Access 2002 will be uninstalled. Within the Phoenix Software Catalogue, it will be possible for you to re-install a copy of Microsoft Access 2002, however some of the issues Deakin faces are:
