Students who have Outlook or Entourage installed on their laptop or home computer can access their Deakin email account using these applications.

Anywhere that the internet is available Deakin staff and students can access and use their email account through a web browser using Outlook Web Access.

Staff who use a Deakin University Workstation Scheme (DUWS) computer will have either Outlook (Windows) or Entourage (Mac) installed for use. Alternatively, staff can download the applications from the Deakin Software Library.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students have a mailbox storage quota of 200mb, while postgraduate by research students have a mailbox storage quota of 500mb. Staff have a mailbox storage quota of 1gb.

Research Contact Management Tool

The Research Contact Management Tool (RCMT) allows current staff members, research students and research visitors to set up an email redirect address that can be used while at Deakin as well as kept after leaving Deakin.

The address is in the format <name>@research.deakin.edu.au with <name> being chosen by the person setting the account up from a dropdown list of options. The created address can be redirected to any email address of the creators' choosing but can't be used as a standalone email address as it is purely a redirect and has no associated storage space.

The creator of the redirect address will be automatically contacted every six months at his/her nominated email address to verify whether the @research.deakin.edu.au redirect address is still required.
