Deakin law clinics

Deakin Law School operates two law clinics as learning legal firms, which take on real clients and real cases on a pro-bono basis.

Get free, high-quality legal advice

Under the supervision of experienced lawyers and academic staff, advanced students resolve legal matters free of charge. Operating from offices in central Melbourne, Deakin's law clinics are accessible and emphasise professional, high-quality service.

Our clinics are a good opportunity for students to expand on the rigorous academic knowledge and the critical and reflective skills they gain during their degree. They'll gain practical legal skills and experience that employers look for, and graduate work-ready into a competitive employment market.

Two clinics are operating in Melbourne’s CBD, each of which services a different legal need.

New Venture Law Clinic

Dedicated to providing legal assistance to start-ups and entrepreneurs, this clinic covers issues around contracts, intellectual property, corporate structuring and more.
