Keynote: Professor Roy Tasker
Research into practice: a useful learning model to inform teaching
Professor Roy Tasker is currently Professor of Chemistry Education at the University of Western Sydney, and Provost of its Hawkesbury campus. In 2011, Roy was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for Australian University Teacher of the Year.
An engaging presentation during which Professor Tasker explains how supporting research in cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience and education shows how we learn and how he applies this research to learning design. During the presentation the audience and those watching in the cloud use a student response unit (SRU) and gain first hand understanding of how this tool can change teaching.
