Australian Heritage Bibliography - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Subset (AHB-ATSIS), formerly HERA-ATSIS, produced by the Australian Heritage Commission, is a subset of the AHB database. AHB is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from published and unpublished material on Australia's natural and cultural environment. The AHB-ATSIS subset contains records that specifically relate to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Source documents include journal articles, unpublished reports, books, videos and conference proceedings from many different sources around Australia. Emphasis is placed on reports written or commissioned by government and non-government heritage agencies throughout the country. Subject coverage includes aboriginal rock art sites, ceremonial grounds and sacred sites; important historical and archaeological sites; historic buildings and structures; historic towns and precincts; coasts; forests; national parks; endangered species; wetlands; rivers; geological features; wilderness areas; and world heritage sites.
