This collection covers education; school organization & management; special education; elementary education; secondary education; adult education; curriculum; education of women; schools & religion; higher education; government regulation, control, support of education.

Purpose of the collection

The Library collects in the field of Education primarily to support the teaching and research needs of the Faculty of Arts and Education.

Resources in this area are also used to varying degrees by other Schools in the University, and by supporting Divisions in the University.

The School of Education offers undergraduate courses in the following areas

Major online databases such as ERIC, A+ Education, Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts, Professional Development Collection, Expanded Academic and Academic Search Complete provide access to a range of information on the topic.

Specialised collections of Australian Schools Textbooks are held at Geelong Waterfront and at Melbourne, in the Special Collection.

Extensive collections of curriculum materials are held in separate collections (Curriculum Resource Collections) within the campus libraries at Geelong at Waurn Ponds, Melbourne and Warrnambool.

Aspects of this collection are relevant at Melbourne, Geelong or Warrnambool (primary education only). The exception is higher education, which may be located at Geelong Waterfront, for use by the University Executive, or, if multiple copies exist, at all campuses.
