This collection covers the history, principles and techniques of all forms of vocal and instrumental music and musical instruments. It includes recordings, musical scores and sheet music.
Purpose of the collection
The Library collects in the areas of performance and creative arts primarily to support the teaching and research needs of the School of Communication and Creative Arts within the Faculty of Arts and Education.
Users/Courses Supported:
The School of Communication and Creative Arts offers undergraduate courses in the following areas
- Animation
- Dance
- Drama
- Film
- Graphic Design
- Photography
- Visual Arts
Music is not a major sequence of study.
The School of Education offers both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching courses which include studies on teaching music in the classroom.
Existing Collection
Major online databases such as Art Abstracts, APA Full text, Expanded Academic ASAP, Naxos Music Library and Academic Each Complete, provide access to a range of information.
