Collection Guidelines - Other Collections

Campus Print Reserve Collections

A Print Reserve Collection is located at each campus library and contains high use books or audiovisual materials. Restricted loan conditions apply to these high demand collections to provide access to a greater number of students. Reserve collection items are reviewed annually and removed if they no longer fall into the category of high demand.

Details for submitting requests for materials to be placed in the campus library print reserve collection can be found at: deakin.edu.au/library/teach/submit-reading-list.php

Resources held in Campus Library Print Reserve Collections are available via unit material on the Library's homepage. Items are available from Reserve for a 2 hour loan and may be taken out of the library. If item/s are borrowed within 2 hours of library closing time, they may be borrowed overnight and returned within the first hour of opening the following day.

E-readings

E-readings are an electronic collection of readings to support units being taught each semester and may include book chapters, journal articles and lecture notes.

Resources held in E-readings are available via unit material on the Library's homepage. More information on finding e-readings can be found at: deakin.edu.au/library/help/how-do-i-find.php#reading-list

Information on requesting or linking via CloudDeakin to e-readings can be found at: deakin.edu.au/teaching-learning/dso/guides/ereadings.php

Examination papers

The Library provides access to electronic copies of past Deakin University examination papers submitted for Deakin University students and that have been approved for library release in accordance with the University's Assessment (Higher Education) Administration Schedule.

All papers to be published by the Library must be submitted for approval to the Assessments and Graduations Unit (Division of Student Administration). The Assessments & Graduations Unit overseas the consistency, quality and authorisation of Deakin Examination Papers.

Examination papers are available via unit material on the Library's homepage. Please note that embargoes from unit chairs may restrict the release of certain examination papers. Sample exam papers will only be made available as part of the examination paper collection if previous exam papers for the unit do not exist e.g. new units or units that have undergone major syllabus revisions. Sample exam papers will be removed as soon as the real paper is available.

The Digitisation area of the Library is responsible for coordinating library access to exam papers. Information on linking to exam papers from CloudDeakin or a wep page is available at: /library/teach/direct-linking.php#exams
