This collection covers political science, politics & government, civil & political rights, political processes, international migration & colonisation, international relations, public administration & military science.

Purpose of the collection

The Library collects in the field of Political Science primarily to support the teaching and research needs of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences within the Faculty of Arts and Education. Resources in this area are also used to varying degrees by other Schools in the same Faculty and by Schools in other Faculties.

Users/Courses supported by the collection

The Faculty of Arts and Education offers an undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts, with major studies in International Relations, Politics and Policy Studies, Middle East Studies, Social and Political Thought.

Postgraduate courses are available in:

  • International Relations
  • Politics and Policy
  • International and Community Development

Postgraduate research degrees are available.

Major online databases such as Academic Search Complete, APA Full Text, Expanded Academic ASAP, Sociological Abstracts, Worldwide Political Science Abstracts, Project Muse, SocIndex with Full Text and the Web of Knowledge provide access to a range of information.
