The Director, Digital Libraries and Repositories is a strategic role within the Deakin University Library. The Director is responsible for the development and delivery of innovative digital library services and systems that enable the effective discovery of scholarship and enhance the experience of students and researchers who engage with the library through digital channels. As a member of the Library's Executive team, the position shapes the Library's strategic responses to Deakin's strategic agenda and the Deakin promise to advance Learning, Ideas, Value and Experience (LIVE).
The Director, Digital Libraries and Repositories, is required to take a global view of scholarly communication and information technology and is responsible for ensuring that Deakin Library leads in the delivery of innovative digital library services and systems to support the University's teaching, learning and research. The Director also oversees the ongoing development of the University's research repository for the recording of research outputs and research data collections (Deakin Research Online).
