Role

To ensure excellent information services to a designated area by managing and leading a liaison team to achieve quality customer-centred services and resources to support the learning, teaching and research programs of the University. The aim of the liaison program is to ensure the fulfilment of customer needs for information services and resources by maintaining a high level of awareness and knowledge of University, Faculty and School goals, programs and issues as well as relevant subject knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct cloud and located Library services in association with the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment and implement innovative and responsive programs which contribute to the Faculty's strategic teaching, learning and research imperatives
  • Manage services, buildings and facilities and lead and motivate staff to ensure the effectiveness of the Geelong Waterfront Campus library as an information resource location
  • Coordinate at least one of the following library-wide operations or services, developing guidelines and evaluating performance: Services to Research; Services to Learning & Teaching; Advisory Services including International and Partners; Business Analytics; and Collection Assessment and Use
  • Conceptualise, develop and implement strategies and actions which integrate the Library's services into educational programs and the research process, and reflect a customer service focus
  • Contribute to the development of the Library's planning, research and development and decision-making processes
  • Ensure the implementation of all University policies that relate to the areas for which the position is responsible, in particular, those relating to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk management, staff development and staff performance planning and review
