Role:

To ensure excellent information services to a designated area by managing and leading a liaison team to achieve quality customer-centred services and resources to support the learning, teaching and research programs of the University. The aim of the liaison program is to ensure the fulfillment of customer needs for information services and resources by maintaining a high level of awareness and knowledge of University, Faculty and School goals, programs and issues as well as relevant subject knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the provision of information services and resources to ensure their relevancy to the teaching, learning and research needs of up to two specified faculties
  • Manage services, buildings and facilities and lead and motivate staff to ensure the effectiveness of the Campus library as an information resource location
  • Coordinate at least one of the following library-wide operations or services, developing guidelines and evaluating performance: Services to Research; Services to International and Partners; Online and Off Campus; Information Assistance Services and Collection Assessment and Use
  • Conceptualise, develop and implement strategies and actions which integrate the Library’s services into educational programs and the research process, and reflect a customer service focus
  • Contribute to the development of the Library’s Action Plan within the context of the Academic and Information Services Operational Plan and the plans of the University
  • Responsible for ensuring implementation of all relevant University policies, in particular those relating to equal opportunity, OH&S, staff development, and staff performance planning and review.
