Print, copy and scan

Multi-function printers are available at all campus libraries to copy, print and scan material.

Print and photocopy

Your Deakin Card is used for photocopying and printing in the Library. You can add money to your Deakin Card through Deakin Card reload stations.

You can access your printing at any printer located on your campus by swiping your Deakin Card at the preferred printer.

Visitors and Deakin Alumni may purchase a Visitor Deakin Card from the Deakin Card reload stations for the cost of $5 ($2 for the card and $3 worth of credit). Cards can be reloaded as required.

Costs

Photocopying microfilm and microfiche: 30 cents per A4 page.

Scan

You can scan both black and white and coloured images to your Deakin email address at no cost.

Copyright

All copying must be conducted in strict compliance with the Copyright Act 1968. Details are displayed in the Library.  Further information on copyright responsibilities is available on the Deakin University Copyright site.

Computers and wireless networking

Computers and internet access are available in all campus libraries. Connect to the wireless networked environment if you have your own laptop or device.

Laptop computers are available for a 2 hour loan at the Melbourne Burwood Campus Library. Please ask staff at the Library service desk for more information.

What equipment can I borrow?

Digital equipment is available for loan. Brief instructions are supplied with each device.

Digital cameras

Loan: 3 days + 1 renewal
Available at: Burwood, Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool campuses

Headphones

Loan: 2 hours or 1 day (dependent on campus)
Available at: all campuses

Kindle e-book readers

Loan: 14 days, no renewal
Available at: all campuses
Details:

• each Kindle comes loaded with a number of titles and you can request to add more
• find Kindles via the Library catalogue
• find out more about what Kindles are and how to use them.

Laptops

Loan: 2 hours
Available at: Burwood
Details: laptops cannot be reserved

Locker keys

Loan: 1 day
Available at: Waurn Ponds
Details:

• you can borrow a key from the service desk for lockers on Level 1
• rent a locker on Level 2 which requires a $2 coin
• your coin is refunded when the key is returned to the locker
• Level 2 lockers are cleared each morning.

Zoom Q3 HD recorders

Loan: 3 days + 1 renewal
