Selection Tools

Listed below are just a selection of the many databases and websites that can assist you to find book titles and other resources. These databases can be used as an aid to selection and to verify bibliographic details of titles in print. If you would then like the library to purchase a copy of a title please see the Book request form.

Books

DA information Services
This Australian database allows you to search for a book from any publisher in the world. You can also set up your own email alerts that will send you lists of new titles in your chosen subject areas.

Global books in print
This international database has over 11 million books, audio books and videos. A title or author search can be used if you have the relevant information or a keyword search can be used for titles in a particular subject area.

Journals

Ulrichs Periodical directory
This is the journal equivalent of Global Books in Print.

Genamics Journal Seek
This is the largest free database of journal information.

DA Information Service
Da also has information on more than 165,000 journal titles - just click on the serials tab.

Videos

ABC Bookshop

EzyDVD
This lists DVDs available in Australia.

IMDb
Internet Movie database - this database has reviews and information about the films listed as well as availability.

Marcom projects
This Australian company specialises in educational and training videos and DVDs

An Australian company that provides a global out of print book search service.

Books and Collectibles
An Australian based service that searches for antiquarian, rare, used and out of print books and collectibles worldwide.
