The library has an extensive collection of resources to support the University's teaching, learning and research activities:
- 1.7 million books
- 64,000 e-books
- 23,000 videos and DVDs
- access to over 70,000 journal titles and newspapers
Facilities include:
- over 1,100 study seats available in a variety of styles including individual
study carrels, group study areas, silent study areas and casual seating zones
- computers, laptops for loan (at Melbourne Campus at Burwood)
- a wireless networked environment for users with their own laptops
In 2007:
- 404,692 items were borrowed, including 163,061 items checked out using the self-checkout units
- over 272,000 items were renewed on line
- 46,000 items were dispatched to off campus students
- 25,000 items were lent to users at other campuses
- 25,000 holds were placed
- Over 1.3 million electronic articles were accessed
- 1,021,446 people visited the library
- 34,000 books, videos and DVDs were added to the collection
